MAMA Awards!!!

This week's news that set the nation abuzz is none other than MNET Asian Music Awards!!! MAMA, an award ceremony held to honour the music industry, was held on 29 Nov 2011. Many popular idol groups and celebrities including BEAST, 2NE1, Super Junior, Girls' Generations, Lee Byunghun, Han Hyojoo, Seung Jiho etc.
Well over 10000 fans attended the 4 hour long event! Before the show, many even went to the airport to 'fetch' their idols and camped at MBS (the official hotel) in hope of catching a glimpse of their idol.

This news, I'm sure, is highly relevant to the teenagers of kpop crazy Singapore.

I myself, was a very fervent and crazy kpop fan years ago (when kpop was not even popular!), but my favorite group (TVfXQ) went on hiatus and I subsequently lost interest :(

However, I still do look out for news and big events. With MAMA being one of the top 3 end year award shows, it is obviously a must-watch!

2011 MNET Asian Music Awards

1. Red Carpet

Here is Girls' Generation in their beautiful dresses! I love Sooyoung and Yoona's dress!!! Those dress trains are so gorgeous~
Their make up reportedly took 3 whole hours!

BEAST looking cute in their tuxedos and bow tie~

2NE1 never fails to surprise with their stylish dressing! Just look at Dara's exclamation mark hair!



2. Performances

The highlight of this year's MAMA is probably the kiss between Hyuna & Seunghyun. Probably done to promote their new single Troublemaker.

This kiss definitely generated a lot of interest, and many fans from both camps were horrified to watch their idols kiss.

Super Junior's entrance was amazing!

Their performance of 'Super Man' and 'Mr. Simple' definitely drove the crowd wild with the sitting-in-the-audience and aerial entrances.

Their performances were the bomb! So much swagger, they are definitely wonderful performers!

drivin' round town

This week's relative topic has something to do with cars! More specifically being the COE prices. The COE prices have been a killer for quite a while now, sometimes costing even more than the actual cars themselves! Their high prices have been keeping people from purchasing cars, which might actually be a good thing, since the roads are indeed getting rather congested; oh the horrid 9am jam on the way to school.

Not to mention all the pollution from the cars!

Those aside, I am still learning how to drive now, and if I could get any car I want after my getting my license, I would definitely be considering this!!!


Volkswagen Beetle

Or maybe I should stick with a more toned down cream beetle.


Haha, however, maintaining the car is no easy (cheap) feat! Fuel, parking, ERP fees etc are so expensive. Your friends might also start to take you as their taxi driver (haha!).

Since I do not have a car, nor yet have a license, I shall stick to my public transport and perhaps, getting rides from my friends ^^

This is the week's relative news topic! Basically, Singapore is upgrading the International Cruise Terminal!! Yay, because this would mean we'd be able to welcome all the large cruise ships into our tiny island! You'd have to admit that SuperStar Virgo/Gemini/Lion hold little excitement now (I'm sure everyone has been on them a million times).

Here is the cruise ship that I hope will hit our sunny (though currently very rainy) shores! :D

Aren't you excited that this cruise liner might dock upon our shores in the future? It's time to save those monies (it ain't cheap!!) for a helluva holiday trip! But as for a poor student like me, I'm afraid that I would have to stick with StarCruises for now :(
